Kessie Cramer’s Gotcha Day

Saturday was my year Gotcha Day!

Saturday was my year Gotcha Day!

Hi folks. Kessie here! Well, I have to tell you that I really had a great day Saturday. It was the one year anniversary of the day when Mom (and Matilda and Livvie) adopted me. Mom decided to get me lots of special treats, take me on nice walks, pet me a lot, and give me special toys. Especially the silly rat-cowboy below, since I am a rat terrier.

Oops! I already have all of that. And that was my first party! I got lots of special tummy rubs, as I do now every day. Mom discovered that there really was nothing that she could give me that I wasn’t getting already, every day. We pawsed, and took a moment to curl into tight little balls, as we are known to do. Love, of course is the most important, and I also get that from my sisters.

What are you doing mom? Why is this rat-cowboy on my shoulders?

Matilda, should I climb in there with Kessie?

I love my sisters and my sisters love me!

I love my sisters and my sisters love me!

I want to thank my rescue group, Badass Brooklyn Animal rescue, and my foster mommy, Lauren. I loved her so much, and at the time, I didn’t want to leave her. She made it ok for me to move on to my forever home. She took me to visit, and told me that it would be good. And it is.

Awww….happy first gotcha day! I’m glad your foster mom helped you feel safe in your forever home. It really makes a difference, I think. When we adopted our Meadow, her old foster mom drove her to us from Vermont (we’re on Long Island) and spent the day helping her to adjust. :-)
