Sepia Saturday: Brooklyn Shenanigans

Sepia Saturday and it’s Brooklyn Shenanigans!
This is Twinkle Toes speaking! I’ve heard a lot about some fairly scary and mysterious things happening on Sepia Saturday. Many have spoken of a strange fatigue creeping up on them and then  finding themselves tranquilized by what we call Sepia Sleepia. The occurrence  I describe today was one of gigantic proportions and it has to do with the neighborhood called Dumbo in Brooklyn, and the Manhattan Bridge and the subway!

Mom walked over the Brooklyn Bridge a few weeks ago, from the Manhattan side. She spent some time exploring her old work neighborhood, Dumbo. More about that tomorrow. She had heard that there was a light show over the bridges, but that the crowds were fierce. As she began to amble about, she saw this:

Then she got caught in a crowd, and everyone had a camera. They were shooting and shooting, and flashes were going off. There were many tripods. As mom tried to walk to the subway, she was swimming through people. She had to wait in line for twenty minutes just to get into the subway to go home. A young man wandered into the crowd, injured, bleeding. Someone found him a cab out of nowhere. The streets were clogged with traffic.

Tomorrow, on Black and White Sunday, see Black and White pictures of the Bridge, more history of the Bridge and the Dumbo neighborhood, and see if mom got home safely!
