Friday was Matilda’s birthday, and the gift she got was that she is in remission! She still continues with the chemotherapy protocol, but her prognosis looks pretty good. She received a mani and pedi from one of her best (human) friends, and a visit from her auntie. She already has everything else. She is eating well! The recipe for her meals has come together. Today she ate from her bowl without my hand-feeding her! For me, this is a glimmer of magic.
Awesome! What great news! I’m so happy for you!
Thanks so much. Tonight is a different story. Matilda came home from chemo tonight, and threw up, and is a little worn out. She gained three pounds this week, so I am being patient, and hoping that tomorrow will be better. The vet said to give her stomach time to rest, and gave very specific directions about giving her small amounts of water gradually, in six hours, and then six hours later to feed her. Here’s hoping.
Thanks! It really is a day by day thing. Last night Matilda wasn’t feeling well. Today she is very alive, awake and expressive.
