Just when you think that there just can’t be a cuter and more well-adjusted darling from Col. Potter, a star dog pops up. Rooney is that dog. Found as a stray, and jammed into a high-kill shelter, his time was almost up. Col. Potter literally came to the rescue. This friendly, easy-going and adorable boy, who is about four years old was warmly taken in by a foster home in June. He was emaciated, and one of his eyes needed medical attention.

Rooney’s eye is being taken care of now, and he will need drops twice a day, and possibly further treatment. (Again, see his Intake Story). His foster mom says that he has been completely compliant, gentle and patient with his medical appointments and drops. This little guy is ideal, she coos.
See his profile, and why not fill out an adoption application while you are there:

He loves the resident Cairn in his foster home, and loves to chew on the antler chew-toy. He walks nicely on leash, and learns lots of commands and behaviors with patience, after a few sessions. This boy actually runs in for his meal, and sits calmly next to his mat waiting. After eating, he runs to the door to be let out to potty. In the evenings he will cuddle nicely.
And guess what? He isn’t purely Cairn. They DNA tested him, and he also has Schnauzer and Jindo. He certainly looks like a Cairn!!
Please give him his home soon! He is in foster care in Pensacola, Florida, but the wonderful Col. Potter Cairn Rescue will transport him to you.
