Calder is a friendly, lively guy who fell upon hard times, but is now ready for his forever person or people. He and his fur siblings were little ruffians, barking and roughhousing and just generally being Cairns! Now, his foster mom says, “he’s just a regular guy looking for love”. Col. Potter Cairn Rescue appeared just in time for Calder, so he didn’t have to languish while waiting for his new home. See his Intake story HERE.
Calder is being fostered in Illinois, and is turning eight in a few weeks. Wouldn’t it be the best gift a dog could ever get—his own forever home! Calder is a well-mannered guy, and listens well. He loves men, and follows his foster dad around. His foster mom describes him as “a delightful fellow” who gets along well with his foster sister, a Yorkie puppy. He greets visitors in a friendly, confident way.
Calder will need to meet his new person or family prior to adoption, because he takes a while to warm up to new people. Once he does, he doesn’t necessarily want to share them with another dog. He’s friendly about it, but he lets his wishes be known. He probably will need to be an only dog. Why not go see his profile HERE, and fill out an adoption application while there!
This is a sweet boy who loves belly rubs and ear “skritches”. He walks well on a leash, sleeps in a crate or with his people, and likes to ride in the car. He’s even gone camping! So, don’t delay! Inquire about Calder as soon as you can!
We are participating in Tuesday Tails, which is a Blog Hop where adoptable companion animals are posted. These animals need homes. You can post a dog, cat, gerbil, etc, or see if you can find someone you would like to give a home to. This is hosted by wonderful Dogs N Pawz, and we thank them for hosting.
Oh, he looks like such a sweet baby! Hope he finds his furever home soon!
Thanks so much. We are all wishing for him.
Wishing you find a home with people that adore you and care for you and treat you like the special little doggie you are. WOOF!
Sending you adoption vibes!
Thanks so much little pup.Woofs back to you!
He is the twin to my boy Jocko. I wonder if they are from the same litter. I would love to have Calder live with us. My husband is the one who found this post of FB and fell in love with Calder immediately. Cairns are the best.
I hope that you and your husband will go to his profile page and fill out adoption application and be in touch with Col. Potter Cairn Rescue. I will let my contact know to give you first preference. Here’s hoping!
Hi Ilene! There are some steps to go through — here is a brief overview: http://www.cairnrescue.com/adoption/faqs.htm#20a. There is also a link to the Adoption Application there. Please feel free to mention your interest in Calder when you complete the application. Good luck & thank you for your interest in Calder!
I hope he gets adopted real soon! He is so cute! Sharing.
We have some interest!
