Ok, take your seats. This little guy, rescued by Col. Potter Cairn Rescue when he was a few months old, is so cute, so resilient, that you will want to immediately take action to bring him home. I know I want to. He has just turned one year old, and is waiting for you to make his dreams come true.
His Intake Story is heart-breaking, and I thank Col. Potter many times over for being there for him. It involves having been hit by a car and being abandoned. Click HERE to read it.
His foster mom says that he is a supreme cuddle bug, and he likes to sleep while touching someone. He is crate trained, and potty trained. Maurice is a good helper with the chores and will gladly watch you do laundry or play with his foster sibling. Maurice easily entertains himself while running through the house with his toys. He has been making new friends every day, and he is especially good with new dogs.
He even gets along well with the”mean family cat” at his foster home. His foster mom says that he would like to find a forever home with someone “who will share a cuddly night with him.” She adds that “he will reward you with so much love forever, and will make anyone he lives with feel completely loved all the time.” You can see his profile HERE. Why not fill out an adoption application while there!
It turns out that Maurice is not even a Cairn! Recently he was DNA tested and the test said that he is half Yorkie and half a combo of Potuguese Water Dog and Akita. His most recent medical status is that his broken leg is completely healed, and he is not favoring it. It appears that he has had a complete recovery! Maurice is being fostered in Florida. If you are interested in adopting him, Col. Potter will explore with you how far he would be able to travel, and by what method of transportation.
