I hesitate to say that Sepia Saturday has rolled around again. Since becoming aware of the odd phenomenon that occurs in Brooklyn while Sepia Saturday percolates, I’ve thought I’d better protect my new sister, Twinkle. By the way, this is Livvie! While I wasn’t looking, however, mom decided to take Twinkle to get a haircut. Oh Good Grief! First of all, how can I keep watch over the chewy little pup if I’m home, and she’s out galavanting with groomers?
Will Twinkle disappear into a Sepia-toned black hole?
Sepia spills over Twinkie, rendering her blurry
But she’s obviously been drinking the Kool-Aid! Look at her goofy smile. She looks like she’s going into a sepia-induced trance. Mom, mom, what have you done?
At last, she seems to sober up:
Hmmm…woof?
Twink becomes pensive. She goes deep inside herself to seek some sort of explanation.
Twinkle is a philosophical little being. Most of her fears or confusions end in laughter. She climbs onto mom, and walks on her, chuckling as she goes. She does the same to me. I chew on her snout and she licks my ears. So:
In the end, Twink was done with her hairdo, and watched Brooklyn turn Sepia. As long as she was with mom, she didn’t care. Even when mom announced that she might change Twink’s name to Callie, she just laughed.
Sepia Schmeepia, my forever mom is still here!
I discovered that my new sister is going to be an important ally in this mysterious Sepia crisis that rolls around every Saturday. Whether her name is Twinkle or Callie (short for Callahan or Calliope), she will be instrumental in keeping our corner of Brooklyn safe and sound.
