I’d like you to meet Fitzy Darcy, a wonderful nine year old wheaten Cairn boy who you will fall for in a few minutes. It’s hard to know what to start with first. His cuteness is irresistible. His foster mom describes his “beautiful liquid brown eyes that take in everything.” She adds that he is “calm, placid and accepting of just about everything, from car rides to walks to playing with toys and relaxing on the sofa or porch glider.” She notes that he especially loves the glider.
Foster mother crows that he is a wonderful dog. He spent his entire life with his Person and was even living with her in assisted living for seven of his nine years. When he first entered foster care he was a little forlorn over the loss. His Person was no longer in a position to take care of him. I know we can all feel some empathy for Fitzy. See his Intake Story.
Apparently he became best friends with the other foster in his new foster home when he arrived. When that pup left, his little personality blossomed. He became more participatory and interactive. His Cairn personality really came out. He loves to get on the bed for belly rubs, but prefers to sleep in his crate. He will play with his toys independently but is happier to play with a playmate. He especially likes playing with a calm, well-behaved dog.
This little guy is easygoing, loves people and is very affectionate. He is being fostered in Ayer, Massachusetts. If you are interested, please take a look at his profile and fill out an adoption application while you are there. Col. Potter Cairn Rescue can help you problem-solve about how to get him to your town if you aren’t nearby. By the way, this little fellow is on a weight loss program in order to get him to a healthier weight. So far he’s lost over two lbs. He loves going on long walks, as well as lying in “sun puddles.” He’s eating healthy dog food and getting healthy treats. Fitzy’s a food enthusiast! Please consider adopting this terrific boy who fell upon difficult times!
