{This Moment}: See Beautiful: Twinkle and NYC Scenery. A lot of people are unhappy in New York City right now. When the air turns chilly, they feel betrayed. The light fades.
They feel left alone in the dark. The streets seem harsh and the chill cuts to the bone. They insult New York. I hate you, they say to her.
I used to feel this way. Certainly I don’t love the diminishing light. But always I would happen to come upon a scene like the one above, and it then it wraps itself around my shoulders like a shawl. I met the woman who arranged these trees, this birdbath. She warms the air for a few moments.
Next…Twinkle the dog…
Twinkle came to New York from South Carolina. I was worried that she would be shivering here in the winter. Not her! She prances forward, invigorated by the cold. Intrepid.
While shivering, I was thinking that only a little while ago, in September, this is what a part of NYC looked like. Almost tropical. Oh New York, I love you!
November front yard of brownstone birdbath. Android oil pastel.
And now the color of autumn. From last year. The moments pass. The beauty shimmers, then fades. Out of the corner of my eye a greyhound shadow races by.
This is a Blog Hop that I discovered through Sugar the Golden Retriever, who hosts it. {This Moment} See Beautiful happens every second Friday of the month. It invites you to create a blog post that shows how something in your day/week/month/moment was an inspiration to find beauty in a unique, profound way. The concept was created by See Beautiful, founded by Lydia Criss Mays. We thank Sugar for hosting, and Lydia for founding.
I have always wanted to visit NYC. Someday.

Hi Y’all!
Oh the light does fade this time of year, but you are so correct…even in winter there is beauty to behold. If only Humans stop long enough to see it. Smell the roses. Enjoy the journey. Have a fun weekend!
