Meet Trip, an adorable, adoptable Cairn Terrier. This handsome, cheerful guy was found as a stray, and rescued by the group Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network. He is three years old, healthy, and brimming with energy and exuberance. He loves to snuggle, go on hearty walks, and play with toys.
Trip reports that he starts his day off doing a little yoga with his foster mom. He watches her intently, and takes a little rest on the mat. As she prepares to leave for work, he runs into his x-pen for a treat. He has learned several “skills”, such as “wait”, “sit”, and “go to bed”. He’s working on “Quiet”! Aren’t we all! Cheese is his very favorite treat. He has indicated that he would like his forever home to be a place where there is someone with a big lap and lots of time to pet him. He thinks it would be great if he and his new mom or dad could go on walks and eat cheese.
Trip wants you to know that a video was just done, and he’s the star! He said that he didn’t know what to do so he ran around and barked, and so did the other dogs.
Manners are something Trip admits that he’s learning. He used to think it was OK to climb over the top of his foster siblings on the coach, to get prime lap space, but now he tiptoes lightly over them.
Actually, Trip admits that his eyes are open in the above-mentioned picture! He explains that he loves to hide his toys and chew bones under blankets or other secret places. No one ever finds them. He is a very smart boy. he also enjoys doing fly-bys past his foster sister, who is pretty slow.
Trip loves snuggling with foster mom and dad on the couch. He can’t seem to get enough! He loves to catch up on his reading, too. Trip and his foster dad sit on the couch and read, and when foster dad forgets to keep petting him, Trip reminds him.
Trip is being fostered in Endicott, New York. If you would like to adopt him, Col. Potter will help you problem-solve about how to transport him to your town. You can see his profile on their available dogs page. Please consider filling out an adoption application while there!
