Please adopt Tyke, an irresistible Cairn!
Meet Tyke, who is being fostered in South Bend, Indiana, through Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network. He is an adorable six year old wheaten-colored male Cairn who has been romping around in the autumn leaves, searching for rabbits and for his forever home!
Tyke is a precious dog who was adopted from a shelter by a family, but it didn’t work out. He was given a new chance with Col. Potter. He has a pack of Cairns to play with in his foster home, and is a happy little fella, with his tail always wagging. Tyke loves to go out walking on his leash. He also loves to play with toys and collect them. His leash-walking is very good, and he doesn’t jump on or bark at new people. He does well when meeting new dogs on his own.
Tyke himself says: “I’m enjoying the fall. The leaves are fun, but they are making more space for those blasted moles and squirrels to hide. I still love to put on my lead and take foster mom for a walk several times a day. I listen to her when we are walking. She gives good directions, and I’m usually right by her side. My favorite time is evenings when I get to curl up on foster mom’s lap and catch a snooze. The only other thing that would make this better would be snuggling up with my forever family . Have you put in your application yet? I’m turning over the leaves looking for you!” Tyke’s profile can be found on the Available Cairns page. Please fill out an adoption application while you are there!
Tyke’s foster dad thinks that he possibly he should be the only dog in your household. He might also do well with one other dog if that dog is laid back. Tyke likes to be the center of attention, and a good match for him would be someone or a family who is able to devote a lot of time to him. He sleeps well in his crate and is willing to go into his crate when his foster parents go to work. This is good since he is a bit of a jumper, and he will go for items on counters and/or coffee tables. He is house-broken, and does well as long as he is kept on a consistent schedule.
Tyke is ready to pack his bags and move into his new forever home. Even though he likes to keep track of his foster mom, and observe most of the things that she does, he says, when interviewed, that he will gladly transfer his enormous reserves of love to his new forever parent(s)/family. Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network will help you problem-solve about how to get him to your town, if you aren’t near his foster home. Now please get busy with that adoption application!
