A Sepia Series Story
as told by Livvie Rat Terrier
Mom told us that today was a special day. “I know mom”, I barked, “it’s Sepia Saturday! Watch out! Who knows where we could end up. With our luck, and all these firecrackers, we could fly off and up into the stratosphere somehow”.
“No”, mom said, “today is the day our puppy comes to us from Vermont”!
“Where, where? I don’t see a puppy. Where is she mom? Huh? Huh”?
I looked on the side walk.
Is she in that Yellow Cab?
I looked up into the now Sepia tress. “Mom, is she going to fly from the trees”? I squealed! “What is with this darned Sepia universe anyway. Please don’t tell me she is from Sepia Land, mom”.
Mom couldn’t answer any of our questions. We sat on the couch and waited.
And waited.
And waited.
Just when we had almost given up, mom said, “She’s here”!
We went to meet her, and there was the cutest little pup.
Now she’s ours and we are hers. I love her and so does Kessie and Mom. I think she loves us too. She licked the inside of my ears and I chewed gently on her snout.
This is good, and I don’t even care that it is in sepia!
Thanks to Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network for rescuing Twinkle and letting us adopt her! Thanks to Matilda and Toby for watching over us all!
