I became aware of a tragic situation in which a family needs to re-home their two dogs due to a death and some serious illnesses. They are in Brooklyn, New York. The dogs are adorable and sweet, and older, ages 10 and 12. A friend visited them and took the photos. Their names are Nena and Liberty. Liberty was born on 911.

The dogs’ care-takers were Eric’s parents. His mother recently died, and his father is seriously ill and in the hospital. The dogs were moved to an aunt’s house, but she is also seriously ill, and cannot get up and down the stairs to walk the dogs. She would love to keep them, but her chemo treatments have left her unable to ambulate  well.  Eric is running back and forth from his family to the aunt’s to take care of the dogs, and to the hospital to tend to his father, and is taking care of his mother’s affairs. He is overwhelmed.  Is there anyone out there who could either adopt the dogs, foster them or help with their care?
