Sending love to all

Sending love to all

Livvie would like to say: to all our friends all over the world, best wishes for a beautiful Christmas, if you celebrate! If you are feeling blue, please reach out to someone.

Kessie and Livvie are feeling philosophical

thinking hard about resources

Kessie and Livvie are feeling philosophical. They are also concerned because this is a time of year when many people feel alone and depressed. They would like to provide a few resources, given to them by their mom:

Why not research  a therapist to call when the holidays are over, or even possibly leave an e-mail now, for when the holidays are over: therapists.psychologytoday.com This is an extensive directory through the magazine Psychology Today. Although the magazine is considered somewhat “pop psychology”, the online directory is reputable, and many therapists and psychopharmacologists are listed.

Here is some information from the UK.  The Depression Alliance has a short informational publication called Surviving Depression at Christmas at www.depression alliance.org

Wed MD’s Depression Health Centers has a helpful article called Emotional Survival Guide for the Holidays, by Denise Mann. Click HERE to access it.

For a breath-taking tale and photographs of reindeer, access the story on Public Radio about Celine Clanet, on PRI.org. Here are some  interesting facts about reindeer:  both females and males have antlers, and they are the only deer for which this is true, they are ungulates and good swimmers, and they make clicking sounds as they travel due to their large, flat hooves that act almost as snowshoes for them.
